Clarissa “Mitzy” Elkins Mitchell, age 56, of Mooresburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Serenity House in Morristown.

She was born May 29, 1966 to the late Ronnie and Jackie Elkins which preceded her in death in October and November 2022.

She was saved at an early age at Old Spruce Pine Baptist Church. In 2014, she became a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton. Mitzy enjoyed traveling and taking several cruises with her husband Joe.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 28 years whom she adored, Joseph Mitchell in 2019; her brother, Mark Elkins; her aunts and uncles, Patsy Roberts, Harold Elkins Jr., Betty Elkins, James Lawson, Earl and Dorothy Maness, Irene and Sherman Cox, Louise and June McReynolds, Eddie Maness, Keith Wills, and Jack Hance.

She is survived by her aunts and uncles, Donna Wills and Ruth Hance of Morristown, Lois (James) McAnally of Rogersville, James Elkins of Virginia, and Marjorie Lawson of Sevierville; several cousins and friends; and a special Thanks to her caregivers, Sonda Bailey and Judy Scearce.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm with Rev. Heath Elkins officiating.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm February 16, 2023 at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jerry Scearce, Sam Mitchell, and Jeff Lawson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Kenny Bailey.
