KODAK – The end of the regular season didn’t go the way both Grainger basketball teams had hoped in their games Monday night at Northview Academy.

Maddie Hurst scored 11 points for the Lady Grizzlies but no other Grainger player could crack double digits as the Lady Cougars won 45-35. On the boy’s side, the Grizzlies couldn’t get their offense on track as they dropped a 72-48 decision to NVA. Drew Branson scored 21 points to lead Grainger.

Both Grainger teams are seeded third in the district tournament which begins at Cherokee on Saturday night. The Lady Grizzlies take on Cocke County at 6 p.m. and the Grizzlies also face Cocke County as they tip at 7:30.
