Gordon E. “Wart” Jacobs, age 83 of Morristown, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023.

He will be widely remembered as a coach, having led women’s softball teams throughout the area for decades. In addition, he was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin E. Jacobs; his father, Coy Elmer Jacobs; his mother, Maxie Louise Collins; and brother, Phillip “Jug” Jacobs; and his in-laws, Mamie & Alvin Ollis.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Rachel P. “Mug” Jacobs; children, Angie Jacobs & Brian Jacobs; brother, Wayne “Mutt” (Diane) Jacobs; and several nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Mayes Mortuary. A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the White Pine Cemetery with Pastor Brian Osborne officiating.
