A Jefferson County man has been charged in a domestic disturbance that happened Friday in Strawberry Plains.
According to information from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Friday, deputies were called to Davis Road in Strawberry Plains for a possible assault that may have resulted from a domestic disturbance.
Nicholas Shawn Knight, 35, had allegedly assaulted his brother and wife who live at the Davis Road residence. Both told deputies that Knight was armed with a rifle. Knight had left the resident prior to arrival of law enforcement. Knight was last seen walking toward farmland behind the house.

Approximately 20 minutes into the search, team members located Knight in a tree line armed with a rifle. The man was told to drop the weapon and he complied.
