Fishman highlighted the company’s cutting edge technology and expressed his hope for the facility.
“As you take a tour of the plant today it’s almost unbelievable the technology that they plan to bring to our community.”
“We hope Greenworks will consider Morristown one of the major manufacturing facilities for their products because we believe we have the people, education and trainability to do that.”
Chen walked the audience through a timeline of the company’s history.
“This company started 20 years ago and 15 years ago we started our journey making battery powered equipment,” Chen said. “We were the first to create battery powered equipment in 2007.”
“Looking back the reason we are where we are today is because of our belief in battery powered equipment because we know it brings benefits to both the user and to the environment.”
Chen described their newest product, a riding lawn mower.
“Two and half a months ago we launched our Optimus Z; when we designed this product we wanted every part of this product needs to have an optimal design.”
“I rank it out of 9.5 out of 10 and this is the first time in 20 years a product has received that ranking,” Chen said. “Our closest competitor only ranks a 7.5 so our product is the best.”
The optimus z mower operates with the equivalent power of a 65HP and 1040cc Displacement Gas Engine. It’s equipped with a 19K constant smart cutting system and the PowrTraq Smart Drive System. Operators can now safely and confidently tackle slopes of up to 25 degrees and cut grass at up to 16MPH. It has a constant 19,000FPM Blade Tip Speed and is engineered for all-day commercial use.
The built-in 24 KWh battery module with safe LEP cell technology allows landscapers to mow up to 21 acres per charge and enjoy 8 hours of run time-and now fully charges in just 3 hours.
Chen thanked the community for its support and discussed the future he sees for the facility.
“We appreciate the community, our workers here in the community and our team who made this possible.”
“This is the only the start of this journey and we are going to make this operation the center of excellence for all of our products and you will see more products coming to this place
