William Penn Seal
William Penn Seal went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 13, 2023, after a brief illness.
He was born on August 20,1941 to Clint and Nannie “Mae” Seal. He was saved in 1952 at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a devoted Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, Church Clerk, and Song Leader for many years.
He graduated from Hancock High School and Lincoln Memorial University in 1965 and retired after 40 years from the TN Department of Children’s Services. He enjoyed farming and working for the Lord where he supported many churches in the area and was a true Prayer Warrior.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Lila Jean Wolfe Seal and his parents, Clint and Mae Seal; his sister Brenda Seal and brother Clark Seal.
He is survived by his children Winston Seal, Lori (Jeff) Dalton of Thorn Hill, Charlton (Brooke) Seal of Blountville, Lana (Stephen) Counts of Johnson City. Grandchildren: Will, Hayden, and Anna Dalton London and Marlo Seal, and Lydia Counts; Brothers: Kenneth (Glenda) Seal, Clint Seal, Jr., Curtis (Vickie) Seal, Tony (Pat) Seal, Jeff (Tammy) Seal; Sisters: Ruth (Dean) Greene, Marjorie (Jim) Thompson, Dorothy (R.C.) Burchett, Wanda (Roger) Dalton, Debbie (Harold Dean) Ramsey, and Sister-in-law Annelle Brewer Seal; a host of wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, special friends, and church family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 17, 2023, from 5-7pm at McNeil Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Graveside service to follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
