Trio of Lakeway Area football players named to All-State teams

This week concluded the high school football season as the Tennessee Sports Writers Association and the Tennessee Football Coaches Association released their All-State teams for the respected classes.

On the TnFCA All-State team, Cosby’s Hayden Green was named to the Class 1A squad as a wide receiver while Morristown East’s Max Baker was named to the Class 6A team as a defensive lineman.

On the TSWA All-State team, Lakeway Christian’s Shajai Jackson was named to the DII-A team as a defensive back.

For Baker, the honor caps off a successful junior season. Baker finished the season with 67 tackles, 13 TFLs, 6 sacks, forced 3 fumbles and recovered one.

Baker was named the Region 1-6A Lineman of the Year and was on the Citizen Tribune All-Lakeway Football Team.

Green was phenomenal for Cosby this year as he had 36 receptions for 772 yards and 10 touchdowns. Green also had 17 tackles and a pick and averaged 14.1 yards per kick return.

Green was named the Region 1-6A Wide Receiver of the Year and was on the Citizen Tribune All-Lakeway Football Team.

Rounding out the honors was Jackson as he finished the year defensively with 58 tackles, four for loss and grabbed three interceptions.

On the offensive end, Jackson had 1885 all purpose yards and 18 touchdowns. Jackson was named to the Citizen Tribune All-Lakeway Football Team.
