Calvin Thurman Ledford

Calvin Thurman Ledford, age 67, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at his residence.

He was a member of Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church in Newport. Thurman retired from Morristown Iron and Metals and loved working on cars as he was well known for his welding and being a diesel mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Ledford; parents, Clyde and Virgie Ledford; brothers, Charles Ledford and Dewey Ray “Red” Ledford; and sisters, Lena Mae Fowler, Betty Sue Drinnon, and Nancy Stewart.

He is survived by his children, Kristi Presley, Thurman Greg (Connie) Ledford, Kelly Ledford, and Stephen Ledford; grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan, Austin, Joseph, Brandon, Maverick, Ryan, Tacoma, Abbi, Titan, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Javelin, and Aiden; brother, Lloyd Stanley “Bud” Ledford; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, January 6th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jack Greene officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 7th at Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Newport for graveside services.
