MU Board of Commissioners appoints Brandon Stubblefield as General Manager

The Morristown Utilities Board of Commissioners has announced the appointment of Brandon Stubblefield as the utility’s new General Manager. Stubblefield will succeed Jody Wigington who retired last fall after over 30 years of service. The board utilized Tennessee’s Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) to assist in a comprehensive regional search aimed at finding a leader with a strong background in electric, water, wastewater, and broadband services.
Stubblefield joined Morristown Utilities in 2014 and most recently served as Controller, overseeing the Accounting and Information Technology departments. Throughout his tenure, he has played a key role in financial management, operational planning, and technology initiatives across the utility’s electric, water, wastewater, and telecommunications divisions.
Prior to joining Morristown Utilities, Stubblefield served as Controller for Community National Bank of the Lakeway Area. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Carson- Newman University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. He also holds the Advanced Certified Power Executive certification through the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association.
“We are fortunate to have such a strong management team in place, which allowed the board to select the new General Manager from within the organization,” said Rod Isaacs, MU Board Chairman. “We look forward to working with Brandon as General Manager; we also appreciate Clark Rucker’s willingness to staying on beyond his original retirement date to serve as Interim General Manager throughout this process.”
