Hamblen County Sheriff’s Department investigating possible murder-suicide

The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of two residents found in their home on Sunday night from an apparent murder-suicide.
On June 21st at approximately 8:45 p.m., Hamblen County deputies were dispatched to a West Hamblen County home and discovered two deceased individuals inside the residence.
They were identified as 51-year-old James Hunt and 49-year-old Beverly Hunt. Investigators say a family pet was also deceased from a gunshot wound.
Sheriff Chad Mullins said that autopsies will be performed on both individuals to determine the exact cause and manner of their deaths.

Whereas this is an active and ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
