Creech’s Chapel to Celebrate 74th Homecoming Sunday

Creech’s Chapel Church, located in the Three Springs Community of Whitesburg, will host its annual picnic and Homecoming on Sunday, June 21.

The historic cemetery reflects the dedication of local families who worked to preserve its legacy through land donations, community service and annual homecoming gatherings.

The cemetery has remained an important place of remembrance and heritage that dates to 1839 when Alexander Ballard, Sr., a Revolutionary War soldier, was buried there April 25, 1826. Ballard was honored with a gravemarking ceremony by the State Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, Don Hills, president.

Anyone with relatives buried in the cemetery is encouraged to bring a covered dish lunch and join the celebration of life of their ancestors.

The Homecoming will be held inside the Creech’s Chapel Church and begins at noon on Sunday. Everyone welcome.
