Area Realtors are encouraging the community to donate to the Shriners Hospital in honor of one of their own.
Greg Hurst, who died last week at the age of 55, was a businessman, realtor, and auctioneer who accomplished much in his short lifetime.
Hurst was the owner/founder of Hurst Real Estate and Auction Company.
He was the immediate past president of the Lakeway Area Association of REALTORS.
In service of the LAAR, he was:

• 2020 Director
• 2022-23 Leadership Development Committee Chair
• 2008-2012 Community Awareness Committee Member
He was also a Graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute.
Travis Close, The REALTORS State president, presented Hurst with a serial numbered REALTOR coin in honor of his work in sending two semi-truck loads of toys to underprivileged children.
Hurst also donated numerous amounts of hours to teaching education to the Auctioneer’s group. He had just accepted a position on the Government Affairs Committee.
Hurst will be missed by the REALTORS and Auctioneers of East Tennessee, officials said.
Hurst was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny and Helen Hurst.
He is survived by his children, Nick (Kasey) Hurst and Ethan Hurst and fiancée Tinsley; grandchildren, Alexandria Hurst and Riley Collins, Bella and Geri Smith; sister, Dawn (Johnny) Wilson and niece, Emily Wilson.
If anyone is interested in making a memorial donation, they can make it to Shiners Hospital for Children. https://donate.lovetotherescue.org
