Main Street Nutrition plans to bring a paint party to its venue on January 7.
Victoria Burnside, who hosts the Brews and Hues at 1907 Brewing Company, is excited to bring Sip and Strokes to another venue.
“We always have so much fun at 1907 Brewing Company and Main Street Nutrition has a little more space so we can have more people attend.”
Burnside, who had recently moved back to Morristown and works as the Director of Teen Services for the Boys and Girls Club of Dumplin Valley, is no stranger to these events.
“I had hosted some private paint parties in Nashville before I moved back to Morristown and when I moved back I thought I could bring a little of the big city to Morristown and host a paint party here,” Burnside said.
After discussing her plan to a few friends she decided to approach 1907 Brewing Company about the event.
“I talked to some friends and they told me to check out 1907 Brewing Company, because it was new brewery in town, for a one time paint party.”
“When I talked to Haley Fugate the Marketing & Events Manager and she said that she had been looking to bring an event similar to the brewery and host a monthly paint party and it was like divine intervention. Now I host Brews and Hues monthly there.”
After receiving a good reception at 1907, Main Street Nutrition reached out to Burnside to bring an event to the tea shop.
“Ms. Candice from Main Street Nutrition had seen that I was hosting these events and she wanted to host a paint event to bring in more business and she thought it would be fun, so she reached out and we planned something.”
“We are so excited because this will the first event at Main Street Nutrition to kick off the New Year.”
Burnside, who has been painting since 2015 walks participants through, guiding them on how to finish the piece.
“I have a canvas with the art already painted for people to see what our goal is and then I have a blank canvas that I will use to walk step by step on how to paint the piece.”
Burnside said that although everyone is painting the same thing each piece will have its own unique character.
“That is why this event is so great we I have all types of people come out with all types of experience. We have people who have never painted before and some who are very intermediate.”
“No matter if we are painting the same thing everyone has their own unique style or they put their own special touch. It’s an experience to be with people of all walks of life, back ground and master levels and connect and just have fun.”
No experience in painting is necessary to attend the event and painters of all skill levels are welcome.
“The point of this event isn’t to make you a master painter or intimidate anyone,” she said. “It’s to have fun, socialize and meet new people.”
“If you have never painted before get out of your comfort zone and try painting for your first time and if you are a skilled painter still come out and just socialize and have a good time and paint with other people.”
The class begins at 11:30 a.m. and each class takes around 2 hours which includes breaks and the drying process.
Tickets for the Sip and Stroke event are still available and include all supplies including the canvas, apron and paint, a loaded tea and snacks provided by Main Street Nutrition. Tickets can be found on Facebook or Eventbrite.
The next Brew and Hues hosted at 1907 Brewing Company will be held at the brewery on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. and a Valentine Brunch Special will be held Feburary 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets for both can be found on Eventbrite.
