Morristown East found themselves back in the win column on Monday evening, taking down Volunteer 59-36.

With the win, East improved to 10-11 on the season.

The Lady ‘Canes were led in the game by three in double digits as Ella Wampler had 16 points, Hannah Hall had 15 points and Finley Surber had 14 points.

Other scorers for East were Hailey Hall with seven points, Halle Gordan with four points and Hudson Cloninger with three points.

East set the tone from the beginning as they led 12-2 after the first quarter. Wampler scored six in the first quarter while Hannah Hall added three.

In the second, East added 15 more points and held Volunteer to nine, leading 27-11 at the break. Hannah Hall had five points in the second while Hailey Hall added four.

In the third East continued to extend their lead, taking a 43-24 lead into the fourth quarter. Wampler had four points while Finley Surber hit a three and totaled five points.

The fourth quarter was more of the same as East closed out the victory. Surber had five more points while Gordan had four.

East will be back in action on Friday as they travel to take on Morristown West. Tip is set for 6 p.m.
