The qualifying deadline was Feb. 16 at noon. Three of the four seeking reelection will have challengers.
Rob Burke qualified to run against Chesney who was elected mayor in 2015. Burke ran in 2021 for the Ward 1 seat against incumbent Bob Garrett who won by four votes. Burke filed an unsuccessful lawsuit challenging the election.
Incumbent Ward 2 councilmember Chris Bivens is seeking his fourth term. He will face a challenge from Katy Tindall Klose.
Ken Smith, one of the city’s two at-large council members, was first elected to the office in 2015. He will face a challenge from Joseph “Joe” Senter.
Ward 4 councilmember Al A’Hearn does not have a qualified challenger in the race.
