Grover Jennings, age 74 of Whitesburg, went to be home to be with the Lord, on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023. He spent many years at Shelby Williams, while also having a love for farming and horses.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Steward and Media Jennings; brother: Roy Young; sisters: Helen (Darrel) Standifer, and Pauline (Daniel) Atkins.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Merlene Jennings; children: Rhonda (Donald) Cox, Pam Jennings, and Terry (Lisa) Jennings. Grandchildren: Eric (Jessica) Cox, Shane (Brooke) Cox and Paislee Jennings. Great grandchildren: Macie Cox, Sara Cloer, Silas Cox, Lane Cox and Luke Cox. Sister: Dorothy Short, brother: Leo (Margaret) Jennings, sister-in-law: Ollie Young. Special nieces: Sandra Smith and Tammy Hamrick, along with several other nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation with his family will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023 at 2:00 P.m. at Midtown Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Bloomer and Rev. Darrell Alder officiating. Interment will be in Hamblen Memory Gardens immediately following the funeral service. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
