Knoxville Children’s Theatre to put on Disney’s Beauty & The Beast Jr.

Knoxville Children’s Theatre, in partnership with the Clayton Foundation will present a live production of the classic, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, Jr. based on Disney’s animated film and the 1994 Broadway production.
The production features the famous music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. The play will be performed February 17th through the March 5th, Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m..
The tale as old as time…this classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self.
But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
The play is performed by 27 talented young actors and 15 talented young designers and crew from ages 9 to 18.
The play’s stage manager is Sam Owens with Assistant Stage Manager Alice Loveday.
