Encore’s Velveteen Rabbit to open in March

Encore Theatrical Company’s (ETC) production of “The Velveteen Rabbit” will open the first weekend of March.
The production of the classic “The Velveteen Rabbit” is the story of a stuffed rabbit toy that wants to become a real rabbit.
This show is new to Encore and is a warm and “fuzzy” story for the whole family to enjoy.
This iteration of Encore’s Young Stars is specifically geared toward a younger age bracket to get kids more involved and excited about theatre from a young age. The cast is comprised of kids ranging from 2nd to 8th grade and the production team sings the praises of this group.
Director of the show, Emma Andrews, is excited for the community to see the dedication and effort of the kids.
“They’ve worked really hard on this show,” Andrews aid. “I think it’s really impressive how fast they have picked up on everything, especially since they are so young. They just soak everything up like a sponge and we are all ecstatic for people to come see their work pay off.”
Performances will be March 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th at 7:30 p.m. and March 5th and 12th at 2:30 p.m. They will take place at the Phoenix Theatre in the Carson Newman University Henderson Humanities building, located at 1640 Russell Ave in Jefferson City.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at etcplays.org or at the door with cash.
