Four local artists to appear at Home Show

Four Morristown artists will create interesting works of art on the stage for audiences at this year’s Citizen Tribune Home Show.
Cosima Aryee, Carmalitta Feeman Barbour, Mike Everidge, and Irene Ledesma Lawrence will begin their own canvas while explaining their design and their techniques, but then they will exchange places and add something to each other’s painting.
The result will be a collaboration or joining of their individuality to create a unifying concept.
Cosima Aryee is a contemporary intuitive artist who grew up on the beaches of southern Italy. After serving 3 years in the U.S. Army, she earned a BFA degree from the college of Art & Design at Southern Illinois University. Cosima says that she paints portraits by capturing the essence of her subjects..
Carmalitta Freeman Barbour retired as art specialist in the public school system; she is a multi-talented artist & active member of the Morristown Art Association. Carmalitta says that “Art is the expression of the artist’s emotional, physical, and spiritual life experiences up to the point of production and is the culmination of playful interaction with any particular medium.”
Mike Everidge grew up in Morristown. When he was four years old his grandmother gave him a drawing board. Everidge enjoys creating portraits and has done more than 1,500 caricatures of many local East Tennessee faces as well as The Beatles and The Three Stooges.
Irene Ledesma Lawrence received her B.F.A. from the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design. She works in varied art forms including painting, photography, and weaving. Her focus is on sustainability and how to leave a smaller footprint on our already struggling “Mother Earth”. Irene says she often creates art pieces using discarded items you may find in a trash can or even creates an art piece that has a thought provoking environmental purpose.
The four Morristown artists will be painting and answering questions Saturday morning at the College Square Mall.
