Jimmie L. “Buddy” Hill

Jimmie L. “Buddy” Hill, 88, of Morristown, passed away at his home after a lengthy illness. He was a life-long member of Noes Chapel United Methodist Church.

Jimmie was a graduate of Morristown High School and Carson Newman College in Jefferson City.He retired from American Enka / BASF as technical supervisor after 40 years of service. Jimmie was a US Army Veteran and served as a field medic in the Korean war. He was the Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 290 for 10 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver, which at the time, was the highest honor given to a volunteer scouter. After retirement, Jimmie spent his time farming and fixing things in his shop.

He is preceded in death by 2 infant daughters; parents, John R. and Marie Pettit Hill; sisters, Mildred Hill Clark and Johnnie Hill Sunderland; nephew, Willard Gaby, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Wilkerson Hill; children, Dan (Carla) Hill of Alabama, John (Heather) Hill of Talbott; his beloved grandchildren, Jason M. Hill, Brian (Kelsey) Hill of Berea, KY, Carter McLean Hill of Talbott, and his precious great-grandchildren, Hunter James Hill and Peyton Grace Hill of Berea, KY; sisters, Beverly Gaby and Gerri Branton, both of Morristown, as well as several nieces.

The family would like to express special appreciation to Amedisys Home Health and Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 pm Monday, March 27, 2023, at Noes Chapel UMC prior to the service at 2:00 pm with Charles Mills and Brian Hill officiating. Graveside services will follow in Jarnagin Cemetery.
