Richard Houston Jr. was born on June 28, 1945, passed away at home on February 24, 2023. Drafted into the US Army 1966, he served as a communication specialist and received a National Defense Service Metal. He was well versed in many subjects and enjoyed music, sports, fishing and debating current affairs.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Theresa Houston.

He is survived by his sisters: Carolyn (William) Thompson, Marilyn (Joe) Griffin and brother, Rodney ( Flora) Houston; children; Raphael (Lucia)Harris, Dana Offutt, Michael Tate, Anastacia Hemby and five grandchildren; nephews: Monty (Debbie) Palmer, Charles Frazier; nieces: Misty Claybon and Chilae’ Houston; devoted friend, Raymond Thompson, and a host of other family and friends.

Military Graveside service will be held at Hamblen Memory Gardens, March 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
