Taste of Morristown returns April 13

Get ready to sit down at Morristown’s biggest dinner party. The Taste of Morristown is returning to Walters State Community College’s Z Buda Gymnasium at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 13.
Returning crowd favorites include food partners Redbud Deli, Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, Big Jim’s Chopping Block, Jacked-Up Bagels, Jet’s Pizza, Zest Café, In/Out Pizza, Walmart Deli, Food City Deli, Buddy’s Bar-B-Que, Snowie of Lakeway, Tennessee, Knead Donuts, Longhorn Steakhouse and Rich’s Products.
“It’s also really exciting to welcome new friends to the event like La Juquelita and Zaxby’s,” said Lise Bender, Girls Inc. executive director. “We’ll have tasty bites of pork, steak, and chicken dishes. Soup, appetizer and dessert or sweet samples plus delicious beverage tastes like Agua Fresca, Pineapple Lemonade and more.
“We appreciate each food partner, past and present, for all their support over the past 26 years of this event,” Bender said. “The Taste is a lot of fun and a lot of work. The support of each of these businesses coupled with our event sponsors and community ticket sales help fund our annual summer camp program.”
Tickets to the event cost $15. For $5 extra, event participants can have their food brought to them in the Foundation Room. Available dining times are 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online through April 13 at www.girlsinchamblencounty.org or in person at the Girls Inc. Program Center through April 10 Last minute attendees will also be able to purchase a ticket at the door.
All proceeds from this event go toward funding the Girls Inc. Summer Day Camp program which has served Lakeway Area girls with educational and recreational programs for more than 50 years.
Girls Inc. Hamblen County has been serving girls ages 7-18 with educational and recreational programs in the greater Hamblen County communities since 1972. Their research-based programming and trained staff focus on the development of the whole girl by supporting, mentoring, and guiding her to discover and develop her interests and strengths. Girls Inc. Hamblen County is an agency of the United Way of Hamblen County.
