RUTLEDGE- Grainger’s Brady Smith threw his third career no-hitter as the Grizzlies shutout Cocke County Wednesday night, 10-0.

Smith had 13 strikeouts on the day and three walks. Fifty-one of his 77 pitches were strikes. Smith’s no-no was the second in as many days for the Grizzlies as Trever Johnson and Bryson Bennett combined to no-hit the Fighting Cocks on Tuesday.

The senior hurler also excelled at the plate as he smacked a double and a triple. Brayden Christian also had a big offensive day as he had a two-run double in the fourth inning that helped pull away from a close game with four runs in the frame.
