Mobility Plus cuts Ribbon on new facility

Mobility Plus is on the move.

The company, along with the Morristown Chamber of Commerce, held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday to celebrate the grand opening of its second location at 1935 West Morris Boulevard.

Mobility Plus is a veteran owned business and owner Jay Linx, is a former member of the United States Navy.

Linx says his full-service showroom on Montvue Avenue is still open, but this new warehouse facility will specialize in repairs and restorations.

“This location is for installs, repairs, restorations and donations. We can basically do almost anything having to do with handicap and mobility. That includes medical beds, walk-in baths, the whole gamut. The other facility is still open as the main showroom.” Linx said.

Linx puts his whole heart in his business and he has a long-held passion for helping the community.

He said he is excited to use a space that allows him to further help those in need.

“It took me over a year to find a warehouse space, and what we’ve been trying to work towards is getting donations and turning them over to the people who need them,” Linx said. “With everybody in financial trouble right now, say a health need comes up and they don’t have the money to buy it.

“Medicare and insurance is terrible, and sometimes it takes a year for something to be approved, so that’s the main reason this location here. One of the things that really gets to us in this business is when someone comes in the store and they absolutely have to have something but they just don’t have the money to get it.”

Linx went on to say that his hope is that people who have any mobility devices that they no longer have use for, will consider bringing them to the warehouse and donating them so that they can be refurbished and sold at low prices or sometimes even donated.

Mobility Plus offers a wide range of maintenance services so you can stay mobile.

They can service all types of mobility products, including: Mobility scooters, manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, scooter/chair lifts for autos, ramps, vertical platform lifts, stair lifts, power lift recliners, and more.

They will come to you and are happy to visit your home or office to perform an on-site evaluation, and in many cases perform basic maintenance services.

Additionally, you are welcome to take your mobility product to their store to get immediate help.

They offer everything from battery replacement to full service and installations of vertical platform lifts.

Take in your batteries, or the whole machine, and they will check your batteries.

This service test is the best way to make sure your batteries are still in good working order.

They will install your new batteries and properly dispose of your old batteries when you purchase your batteries through Mobility Plus of Morristown.

Stop by their showroom or new service center with your equipment and old batteries and they will install your new batteries for you.

They are mobility experts that want to use their knowledge to uncover any issues with your mobility equipment.

Visit their showroom or service center for a quick diagnostic of your machine.

They will first test your batteries to determine if that is the underlying issue.

If they find that the batteries are working properly, they will perform a complete series of diagnostic tests to determine what is causing any issues with your equipment.

They also offer in-home diagnostic services for those who do not have the means to visit their showroom or service center.

They begin with a battery test to ensure your batteries are fully functional.

Once that’s completed, they perform field diagnostic tests to attempt to determine what is causing the issue with your equipment.

If necessary, they will bring the equipment back to their service facility for additional testing and to perform necessary repairs.

Their full-service showroom is located at 208 Montvue Avenue, and their service center is located at 1935 West Morris Boulevard.
