Walters State Community College will host the Knoxville Pipes and Drums for performances on the Morristown and Sevier County Campus.

The Knoxville Pipes and Drums fosters and promotes Scottish bagpiping and drumming, and the related Celtic arts.

The band competes in Highland Games throughout the Southeast and performs in a number of venues throughout East Tennessee and the surrounding region.

The band has been performing for over 30 years with more than 12 pipers and more than numerous drummers.

Both events are free.

The Sevier County Campus concert will be Tuesday, April 18 on the patio outside the Connor-Short Center. Blankets and chairs are recommended.

The Morristown Campus concert will be Thursday, April 20 at 6 p.m. in the Z Buda Auditorium and Gymnasium inside the Dr. Jack Campbell College Center.

Both concerts are part of Walters State’s Global Connections initiative, which sponsors programming designed to prepare students to compete in the global economy.
