R. Donald Brooks, age 91, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Life Care Center of Morristown.

He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church most of his life until his health failed him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Walter and Vola Brooks; wife, Louise Brooks; son, Kenny Brooks; and grandson, Jeremy Brooks. He was the last surviving member of a family of twelve children.

He is survived by his son, Lynn (Alice) Brooks; grandchildren, Jennifer (Gabe) Hutchings, Keith (Meghan) Brooks, and Jason (Jenni) Brooks; several great-grandchildren; also Carol Brooks Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center and U.T. Hospice for everything they did for Don.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m., with Dr. Larry Parrott and Rev. Ken Cole officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
