The General and The Silver Fox: Seeley carries on husband’s legacy with Spot Lyte Entertainment

Lynda Seeley says she and her late husband were like Donnie and Marie: “He was a little bit country, and I am a whole lotta rock and roll.”
They would have been celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year doing what they love most, but instead Lynda carries on his legacy with their son.
“It’s what George would have wanted,” she said.
Together they started Spot Lyte Entertainment, a DJ and Karaoke business, back in 2016.
Both passionate connoisseurs of music, they began their karaoke gig as a hobby doing events at church when their kids were younger.
Seeley remembers, “We would load up all our own equipment and take it to church and everyone would just have a great time.”
But then the kids grew up and her husband retired. Seeley says her husband’s dream had always been to settle down in east Tennessee and now, 20 years later, it’s the longest she’s ever lived in one spot.
Once they’d settled in Tennessee they enjoyed visiting their favorite restaurant and were regulars for karaoke night. When the DJ mentioned that he was selling his equipment and closing his business, a seed was planted in Lynda and George’s mind.
Seeley said, “George looked at me, and I looked at him and he said, ‘wanna go for it?’” and went for it they did.
Together they grew their business beyond karaoke with people all over knowing them as The General and The Silver Fox.
Now Seeley says with the help of her son, she continues the business and stays booked for all types of special events as well as her regular gigs.
She’s been at Off The Hook for six years and is coming up on her fifth year at Good Ole Days.
She says, “I just love watching people feel happy. Music really helps people have fun and forget their troubles.”
Her favorite genre is oldies, but she lets her clients choose their playlists. When they book with her, she spends a lot of time researching their music and curates the playlists specifically to their taste.
“I have great crowds no matter where I go.” Seeley said.
Spot Lyte can DJ anything from car shows, color runs, weddings and any event in between. Seeley says, “I’m in my 70s and I’m still partying!”
