The Morristown-Hamblen Humane Society will hold a charity roadblock event on April 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at four key intersections in Morristown.

The Morristown-Hamblen Humane Society’s mission is to provide a safe haven for animals in need, promote adoption, reunite lost animals with their owners, and humanely attempt to reduce pet overpopulation through community education, aggressive spay and neuter programs, and maintaining relationships with rescue organizations.

The vision is to enrich the lives of companion animals and people through animal sheltering, programs, and community enrichment.

The shelter is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, food, medical care, and adoption services for homeless and abandoned animals in the Morristown area.

It relies on donations and community support to continue their mission, and the upcoming charity roadblock is a critical part of their fundraising efforts.

The four intersections where the charity roadblock will take place are:

1. East Andrew Johnson Hwy & Haun Drive

2. Buffalo Trail and Davis Street

3. West Andrew Johnson Hwy & East Economy Road

4. South Cumberland St and Lincoln Ave

Volunteers from the Morristown-Hamblen Humane Society will be stationed at each intersection, collecting donations from drivers and pedestrians.

All funds raised during the event will go directly to the shelter and will be used to support the animals in their care.

The charity roadblock promises to be a fun and engaging event for the whole community, with plenty of opportunities to donate, learn more about the shelter’s work, and help the community. The Morristown-Hamblen Humane Society encourages everyone to come out and support their cause, even if it’s just for a few minutes during a lunch break.

“We are so grateful for the support of our community, and events like this are crucial for us to continue providing care for our furry friends,” said Willie Santana, a director on the board of the Morristown-Hamblen Humane Society. “We hope everyone will come out and show their love for animals while helping us raise much-needed funds.”
