Dorothy Jean (Morgan) Livesay, 79, of Morristown, TN, passed away April 2, 2023, after a short illness.

To her family, “Jean” was a beloved sister and aunt. To her many close friends, “Dorothy” had a beautiful soul, and those who knew her loved her. To her coworkers at Applebee’s in Morristown, “Mom” was a term of endearment that followed her for many years.

She is preceded in death by her loving daughter, Brenda Livesay Moore, whom she grieved to the end; mother, Goldie Davis McDaniel; stepfather, Penn McDaniel; father, Henry Morgan; sister, Carolyn Morgan Browning; and nephew, Robert Capshaw, II.

She is survived by her sisters, Janice Morgan Seals of Bean Station, TN, and Glenda Morgan Clark (Martin) of Kodak, TN; brothers, Ray Morgan and Gary Morgan of Morristown, TN; as well as many, much-loved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. After the visitation, family and friends will proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for graveside services with Rev. Steve Davis officiating.
