Greater Impact Realty holds ribbon cutting

Greater Impact Realty, a Real Estate firm with a mission to impact the community one home at a time, held a grand opening for its Morristown location Wednesday afternoon.

The ribbon cutting ceremony held by the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce had many community members and agents from other offices visit to celebrate the new location.

The real estate firm serves more than nine different locations in East Tennessee including Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol, Elizabethton, Morristown, Boones Creek, Knoxville, Greeneville, Hawkins County and many more.

David Slack, chair elect for the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the agency to the chamber and to the community.

“We want to welcome you to Morristown,” Slack said. “This day is for you and we appreciate you as a business joining into the chamber and supporting the community as we grow. We wish you the best with this facility and will continue to support you on your endeavors.”

Kathy Oakes, owner of Greater Impact Realty, explained how her real estate agency runs differently than other agencies.

“We are a two year old independent agency and we are so thankful for all that God has blessed us with and blessed us through,” Oakes said. “We decided to do real estate a little differently when we opened two years ago.

‘We are called Greater Impact Realty for a reason. My partners and I decided to take money out of our pocket every month to put towards our five charities and in a week we will donate $25,000 to them. In May we will choose a Lakeway charity to join.

‘I’m not saying that to brag I’m saying that because anyone can make an impact in any area of our life when we join together other likeminded people,” Oakes said.

Oakes explained the importance of running the agency in such a way.

“We can sell as many houses to people out west who want the ideal East Tennessee home but we can’t make them neighbors until we involve them in what’s important to us,” Oakes said.

‘What’s important to us as agents is homelessness, foster care, addiction recovery, students who have autism, and after school underserved youth. We have chosen to partner with those things that touch each of our lives.”

She explained the decision to open the new facility in Morristown.

“I’ve been trying for 10 years to get back to Morristown, I had my children here and I have a deep affection for this area. So it was really important for me to make this our critical juncture in growth,” Oakes said. “We could have easily jumped and gone to Knoxville but we see the Lakeway region as a real pivotal place for impact.”

Greater Impact Realty is located at 144 Cold Creek Drive, next door to Circle S Butcher Block & Farm Kitchen.
