The Seventh Annual Rotary Club Golf Tournament to benefit the Hamblen County Imagination Library attracted 22 teams Friday afternoon to the Country Club of Morristown.
A bright, sunny day was just what the doctor ordered for the tournament.
Rotary Club President Justin Cook discussed the tournament.
“We’re proud and grateful to have all the participants, sponsors and donors come out to support the Rotary Club of Morristown, which has been a member of this community for over 100 years,” Cook said. “This tournament, along with the generosity of the participants, really goes a long way to carry out our efforts to have an important and meaningful impact in our community.
Cook said that Rotary is most grateful in particular to tournament sponsors, ColorTech, Southeast Industrial and First Horizon, all platinum sponsors.
“We couldn’t have asked for better weather and a better day for the tournament,” Cook said.
Lunch, consisting of Jet’s pizza and Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches, along with drinks and snacks was presented by HomeTrust Bank.
The first $5,000 raised in the tournament went to the Hamblen County Imagination Library. Any funds raised past that will be contributed to children’s programs and services.
“We’re most grateful for everyone coming out,” Cook said. “Every drive and putt all went to support Rotary Club of Morristown, the Hamblen County Imagination Library and children’s programs and services.”
Closest to the hole prizes on Holes 2, 4, 12 and 17 included $50 gift certificates.
The Rotary Club of Morristown is part of Rotary International, an organization of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Morristown Rotary meets at noon Wednesdays at the Country Club.
