Jimmy Frank Self (known to his family and friends as “Jim”) passed away on the morning of Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.

He is survived by his wife, Donna “Polly” Self, to whom he was a caring and loving husband. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jim was born January 3, 1935 in Greene County to Lawrence and Hazel Wisecarver. Moving to Morristown at an early age, he attended Roberts School and graduated from Morristown High School. He went on to Carson Newman college earning his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. Jim retired from the Atlanta, Georgia sales office of Hercules, Inc.

Jim was a member of First Baptist Church Morristown and also loved the Methodist Church.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Hazel Self; sister, Dorothy Self; and infant brother, Glen Self.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Noe’s Chapel Methodist church cemetery with Dr. Darris Doyal officiating.
