Annual Strawberry Festival to return May 20
B
Grab your family and friends and get ready to have a berry good time this coming Saturday at the 17th annual Morristown Strawberry Festival.
The Strawberry Festival is free to the community and is one of the biggest spring events in Hamblen County.
WCRK General Manager Ed Arnold says they’re looking forward to a great turnout and welcomes the community to come out and enjoy this special event.
“We had the biggest turnout to date last year and we are looking forward to an even bigger turnout this year. It is free to the community as our way of saying thank you for listening to your hometown stations, 105.7 WCRK FM and Country Legends 93.3 FM” Arnold said.
Visitors to the festival can look forward to the famous Strawberry Pie-Eating Contest, over 100 local crafters and vendors, horseback riding, inflatables and games and much more.
Food City, a sponsor of the Strawberry Festival, sold over 1,000 gallons of strawberries last year and they will be there again this year selling berries.
There will be a large food court with multiple options and the Hamblen County Car Club will be there with classic cars.
A variety of live music will also be available to enjoy with gospel music from Sounds of Unit, bluegrass by C.F. Bailey and Shadow Ridge and rock and country sounds from Broke ‘N Busted.
The Strawberry Festival Beauty Pageant winners will also be presenting a special gift to Daily Bread at 2pm.
This event will be on Saturday, May 20 from 10-4 p.m. at 510 West Economy Road.
Lakeway Area Habitat for Humanity will be assisting with parking and donations are welcome.
