David Wayne “J.D.” Jarnigan, age 57, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 in a tragic accident.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and loyal friend. He was outgoing, never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ann Jarnigan; grandparents, Clyde T. and Anna Lee Jarnigan; uncles, Frank, William “Red,” Charlie, Edgar “Dean,” and William Paul “Jap” Jarnigan; and aunt, Bonnie Dyer.

He is survived by his daughter and special son-in-law, Ashley and Kenny Garrett; son, Dustin Jarnigan; grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Dakota, Abigail, and Hadden Irvin and Chris Jarnigan; cousins, Charlie Jarnigan, Bill Jarnigan, and Timothy Jarnigan; aunt, Paula Jarnigan; very special friends, Alan Ratliff and Dustin Ratliff, as well as Scott Marshall and Scott Reed; and several other family members and friends. He also leaves behind his special companions, Sophie and Jack.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21st at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22nd at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Russellville for graveside services.
