Ernestine” Faye” Mantooth Collier, age 78, of Morristown, passed away on Saturday June 3, 2023.

Faye was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to many. She was so much more than those words. Faye was fiercely independent, and protective. She always looked out for her family no matter what. She raised four kids on her own, and gave them everything she ever had. She was always there to listen. After she listened, she wasn’t afraid to give her honest opinion.

We will miss her guidance, and advice, even though at times it may have been unwarranted. She was fearless, ruthless, and always showed her true colors. She couldn’t hide what she was thinking. That’s just who she was, and we loved her for it. She traveled across the U.S. and God only knows what she did, because she never went in depth with her stories, and didn’t have to share all of the details because we knew Faye lived fast and to the fullest, but she made sure to have a refrigerator magnet for references to those times.

Faye was the strongest woman that took everything life gave her with a grain of salt. She had her own way, and it worked. We are heartbroken to lose her, but she didn’t go alone. She went home, and had a big part of this family there waiting for her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Myrtle Collier; sisters, Deloris, Shelby Jean, and Adell Collier; brothers, James and Vernon Collier; and her dearest son, Dennis Ball.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ball; sons, Christopher Ball, and Travis Morgan; sister, Maryetta Simpson; grandchildren, Mandy Ball Bolling, Christin Ball, Brittany Ball, Chandra Faye Ball, Malachi Ball, and Logan Morgan; great grandchildren, Brianna Golden, Jordon Gilbert, and Hallie Grace Gilbert. Family and friends will meet for a graveside service on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Carpenter officiating.
