Leah Taylor Dunn
Leah Taylor Dunn, age 43 of Morristown, passed away at her home on the morning of Wednesday June 7, 2023.
As an artistic, creative, and intellectual individual, Leah will be remembered for her many talents. She was passionate about the written word, having authored 100s of poems, songs, & stories that expanded into numerous poetry books. She enjoyed crafting, woodworking, painting, and singing. As a Registered Dental Hygienist; she served on the faculty of Walters State Community College in Sevierville, teaching her craft to others. She had a love for all creatures—especially those in need. She also loved her family unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herbert & Lucille Dunn of Union City and Lula Potts of Dandridge. She is survived by her two children, Braeden Thomas Evans & Anniston Taylor Smith; her parents, Dr. Herbert J. & Judy Dunn; siblings, Chad Dunn, Kelley (Jim) Godwin, & Libby Dunn; aunts and uncles, Brenda & Dennis Crooke, Bud Potts, Penny & Rusty James, Nancy & Mark Harmon, and Tammy & Joseph Taylor; nieces & nephews, Josie, Waylon, & Lelynn Dunn, Katie Godwin, Rily Russell; numerous cousins, extended family members, & friends; and her beloved cat, Harvey.
A private service will be held by the family; with arrangements entrusted to Mayes Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Joyful Heart Foundation who works to heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, and to shed light into the darkness that surrounds these issues.
