Wanda Kay Blanken Sexton, age 78, of Morristown, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at her residence.

She was a member of Thankful Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Cora Mae Holt; first husband, Ralph Blanken; sisters, Yvonne Solomon and Virginia “Gigi” Giles; brother, Carroll Holt; and niece, Kim Burchell.

She is survived by her husband, David Sexton; daughters, Tammy (Scott) Simmons and Lori (Joe) Cooper; step-son, Lee (Megan) Sexton; step-daughter, Chrissy Hayes; grandchildren, Taylor and Chase Simmons and Ava, Abby, and Arden Cooper; step-grandchildren, Austin Shoun and Leyland Hayes; special niece, Judy Mullins; special sister-in-law, June Calfee; special friends, Dana Ferguson, Joyce Capps, Lisa Maples, Rita Thomas, and Gladys Dickenson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 13th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 14th at Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Warren and Rev. Ronald Winstead officiating.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
