Bobbie Lynn Young, age 76, departed this life on Monday, June 19, 2023.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Born in Morristown, TN, she was the daughter of Noah and Dovie Green Young. Bobbie was a graduate of Morristown High School class of 1965.

She graduated from Walter State Community College with honors in 1973.

She worked as a Reporter/Editor at The Citizen Tribune before moving to Charleston, SC.

She spent 19 years in Charleston, SC and worked for the Post-Courier.

Upon returning to Morristown to care for her mother, she returned to The Citizen Tribune until retirement.

Bobbie loved the news business. She was always knowledgeable regarding current news events on a local, state and national level.

She was philanthropic and donated to many charities, especially those pertaining to animals. She loved her four cats Noel, Beau, Sophie, Ricky and dog Annie.

She enjoyed traveling with her mother and brother. They visited many European countries and cities throughout the U.S.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Dovie Green Young; brothers, Jimmy, Billy (Mary Elizabeth), Jackie, Butch and Gregory; nephews, Kenny and Brian Young; niece, Angie Cody; great-great nephew, Dominick Caparaso; and great-great niece, Graycn Chase Phillips.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ella Welch Morgan; special friend/coworker, Dora Ann Reeves of Charleston, SC; and special neighbors, Criss Boyd, Serenity, Ethan and Joshua Maag.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 24, from 12 till 1 p.m. at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Jarnagin Cemetery.
