The Lakeway Tennis Association is set to host its first United States Tennis Association (USTA) junior tournament in more than 10 years this coming August. Presented by the Taylor Law Firm, “Motown Madness” is hoping to draw the best junior players in the Lakeway area and beyond. Mr. Jeff Taylor, owner of Taylor Law Firm, is elated to support youth tennis through this tournament. “We appreciate the opportunity to support competitive youth tennis in Morristown,” Taylor states. “I encourage our local youth and families to participate in the tournament and enjoy watching excellent tennis.”
USTA junior tournaments provide unique competition for tennis players unlike other junior sports. Each player competing could build a state ranking through winning matches at tournaments. For players playing in “Motown Madness,” they have greater opportunity as its sanctioned as a level 6 tournament by the USTA. This event also features singles and doubles draws for boys and girls ages 12 to 18.
The tournament will take place at Frank Lorino Park August 11 – 13th. This is the second major junior event the park has hosted since its renovation last year; Frank Lorino held the Region 1, District 2 Large School District Tournament this past May. Any local junior wishing to register for the tournament must first sign up for a USTA membership and then register for the tournament through the USTA’s website.
