Greenworks partners with City of Morristown

At the City Council meeting earlier this month, the City entered into an agreement with one of Morristown’s newest manufacturers, Greenworks.
Greenworks, which opened local operations in 2022, specializes in the manufacturing of lithium-ion battery-operated, zero-emission outdoor power equipment for both commercial and residential use. This agreement with Greenworks is mutually beneficial to both Greenworks and the City of Morristown. Greenworks is allowing the City to use, at no cost, various types of commercial mowers and other landscaping equipment as part of a testing program. In exchange for the use of their equipment, the City will report back data about the equipment’s use and allow Greenworks to periodically observe or document the equipment in use for marketing purposes.
The provided equipment will be utilized by both the Public Works and the Parks & Recreation Departments. Some of the equipment provided includes a zero-turn mower, a push mower, hand-held blowers, and various trimmers.
Assistant City Administrator Larry Clark, who will oversee the use of the equipment, says that, “The City is always excited to work with our community partners. This partnership with Greenworks for lawn equipment is hopefully just the beginning. We appreciate Greenworks and their continued involvement in Morristown’s community”.
The City of Morristown appreciates this partnership with a local manufacturer. Greenworks has established roots in Morristown, providing new jobs and a valuable economic impact to our community.
City Horticulturalist Mike Cupp has worked closely with Nathan Lamb and his team at Greenworks to make this agreement a reality.
Cupp thanks Lamb for “all his efforts in equipping the City crews with lawn and landscape maintenance equipment. “
