Adrain Dee (A.D.) Butler, age 82, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Jefferson Park in Dandridge.

A.D. was born February 5, 1941 in Geraldine, Alabama to Jess and Myrtle Butler. He was a graduate of Geraldine High School in 1959. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara on December 17, 1959 in Trenton, Georgia. They made their home in Mableton, GA and later Gadsden, AL.

They then moved to Morristown in 1978 where A.D spent most of his working career with Flowers Baking Company. He attended Lakeshore Road Baptist Church in Talbott. A.D. was dearly loved by all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend and he will be missed by many.

A.D. is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Butler, his parents, and his sister Flodean Childress.

He is survived by his sons Greg (Patricia) of Talbott and Todd (Fran) of Morristown; his grandchildren Daniel Butler of Knoxville, Savannah (Jeremy) Kelton of Talbott, and Abbey and Holly Butler of Morristown, and great-grandchildren Ava and Parker Kelton of Talbott; his siblings Ronnie Butler and Delmas Butler of Albertville, Alabama; as well as many other special friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 2nd from 4-7pm at Alder Funeral Home with a service to follow. The internment will take place Monday, July 3rd at 10am in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lakeshore Road Baptist Church of Talbott.
