Walter “Glenn” Carpenter, age 82, of Talbott, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his residence.

He was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Kristi and Ginger; parents, Hugh and Mollie Carpenter; seven brothers; four sisters; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann Carpenter; grandchildren, Alex and Jada Foister; great grandchildren, Jaiden Coker, Alexis Minor, Izek Shaffer, Xander Foister, Bella Foister, Xavier Foister, and Axton Foister; brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Carpenter; sister-in-law, Roberta Bishop; son-in-law, Chris Binkley; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends.

Family and friends will meet for a 2 p.m. graveside service on Saturday June 17th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Don Holt officiating. Friends may view between the hours of 12 – 1 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to a charity of your choice.
