George Crawley, age 72, of Morristown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, June 19, 2023.

He was such a kind and generous man. George knew how to enjoy life and was very happy for all the time he could spend with his family and friends. He was on the Knoxville Police Department for many years, working as a detective. He also worked at Westgate Resort for several years.

He is rejoicing in Heaven with those who went on before him, to include his mother, Louise English; father, Raymond Crawley, Sr.; step-father, Millard English; and brother, Ronnie Crawley.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Karan and Tim Goins; brother, Bill (Teresa) English; special nephew, Jeffrey Goins (Ashlee Rutherford), who cared for him during his brief illness and had such a wonderful bond between them; he is also survived by his nephews, Tilman (Lenka) Goins of Portland, TN, Justin (Carrie) Goins of Morristown, Joey (Lisa) Merrell of Greer, SC, and Billy (Kayla) English of Augusta, GA; niece, Jennifer (Bo) Brock of Augusta, GA; very special “Aunt,” Edna Seal; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. he family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, June 22nd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jones and Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23rd at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
