Encore Theatrical Company to open “Hello, Dolly!” and host summer camps

Encore Theatrical Company’s “Hello, Dolly!” will be on the stage June 23-July 2 at Jefferson County High School.
Jerry Herman’s energetic Hello, Dolly! is a musical filled with charisma and with heart.
Matchmaker Dolly Levi is a widow, a matchmaker, and also a professional meddler –but everything changes when she decides that the next match she needs to make is to find someone for herself.
Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Hello Dolly! is boisterous and charming from start to finish. Hello, Dolly! features such memorable songs as “Before the Parade Passes By,” “It Only Takes a Moment,” “Put on Your Sunday Clothes,” and – of course – the title number, “Hello, Dolly!” Dolly herself is one of the strongest and richest starring roles for a woman ever written for the musical theatre, and famous Dolly Levi’s have included Carol Channing, Ethel Merman, Pearl Bailey, Mary Martin, Barbra Streisand, and most recently, Bette Midler and Bernadette Peters.

Encore has a full summer schedule with a something to offer everyone.
Auditions for Cinderella Jr. will begin July 15th from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. in the All Saints Day School gymnasium. This production is for children 6th grade to age 19. These will be closed auditions.
Those wishing to vocal audition may choose 16 bars from any one song to audition with. An accompanist will be provided and those auditioning must provide sheet music. Songs will be sung in the key as written, there will be no on-site key transposing.
For Dance call, auditioners should dress comfortably as they will be taught a short dance combination by the choreographer.
Casting call will be Saturday July 15. Auditioners should receive an email by 11:59 pm which will contain either a casting offer or a notice of inability to offer a role. The offered role must respond to accept or decline by 4 pm on Sunday July 16.

June Summer camps have begun and registration for Page to Stage is available on the Encore facebook page and website.
Page to Stage for grades 1st-5th is June 26-29. Kids enrolled in this camp will write and perform their own play.
