Five Lakeway Area schools compete in Girls Mike Mills MIT Golf Tournament

Eighteen teams converged at The Country Club on Tuesday for the Mike Mills Morristown Invitational Golf Tournament on Tuesday, this time it was the girls teeing off.
Halls High School’s Lauren Davis got the individual victory, shooting a 72, and Dobyns-Bennett took home first in the team competition with a combined score of 151.
Five Lakeway teams participated in Tuesday’s tournament, here’s how they fared:
Cherokee:
Lilli Kate Barker was the lone participant for the Lady Chiefs, shooting a 96.
Grainger:
Hannah Bean led the way for the Lady Grizzlies, finishing with a 127. Ryan Lerchen finished with a 129 and Kelsie Davis shot a 162. The Lady Grizzlies finished with a combined score of 256.
Jefferson County:
Emma Simpson finished with a 118, and Emily Royston and Sarah Howard both shot 94’s to give the Lady Patriots a combined score of 188. 188 was good enough to tie Jefferson County with Hardin Valley for seventh place.
Lakeway Christian Academy:
Lola McIlhanny shot the lowest score for the Lions, finishing with a 91, with Avery Stansell not far behind with a 93, giving the Lions a combined score of 184. Lakeway tied Science Hill for fourth place overall.
Morristown East:
Sydney Courtney finished with an 88 for the Lady ‘Canes, finishing in ninth place, and McKinlee Hamilton finished with a 131, leaving their combined score at 219.
