Lorena Mitchell Hodges Foster, wife, mother, grandmother and beloved friend of so many, went to rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior on August 5, 2023 at the age of 88.

Lorena was born in Renick, WV to John Henry and Mary Magdalene (Crouse) Mitchell of Tazwell, VA. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Maryland Marrs, Lloyd Mitchell, Mary Belle Dowden, Pearl Furches and Reece Mitchell.

She is also preceded in death by husbands Glen Hodges, Jr. of 21 years and Kenneth H. Foster of 21 years.

She is survived by her children, Deborah (Tom) Forrester, David (Linda) Hodges, Donna (Les) Emert, and Douglas (Tabitha) Hodges; grandchildren, Thomas (Cherie) Forrester, III, Tyler (Erica) Forrester, William (Hannah) Ramsey, Stephen (Ashlee Underwood) Ramsey, Matthew and Andersen Hodges; great-grandchildren, Alex and Anna Forrester, Kingston and Lucy Ramsey, Loki Ramsey, Cole, Kate, Corinne and Kaden Forrester.

Lorena was a longtime resident of the Talbott community and a member of Alpha Baptist Church where she volunteered many years in the nursery.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 2PM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, she has requested donations be made to Shrine Hospital for Children and or Children’s Hospital.
