Sandra Clarke, 72, of Morristown, Tennessee, passed away on September 2, 2023, in her hometown.

Born on October 18, 1950, in Morristown, Sandra was a beloved member of the community.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Lela and Linton Dean.

Sandra was a dedicated individual who held a deep commitment to her faith, family, and community. Sandra’s passion for children’s ministry spanned decades, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. She was an active member of Russellville Baptist Church, where she devoted her time and energy to serving children in the church. She was also a fixture in the classroom at Whitesburg Elementary School where she taught for over 30 years. Her bright smile and welcoming heart were familiar to the Russellville and Whitesburg communities. Sandra was also a longtime employee of the Morristown Parks and Recreation department. Many knew Sandra as the lady who kept the softball scores at Jaycee Park and who kept the gym doors open at Whitesburg. Sandra was also a long-time member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a society for professional women educators.

Friends and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects during a receiving of friends which will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 9th at Russellville Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a funeral ceremony will take place at noon followed immediately by the graveside service at Hamblen Memory Gardens.

Sandra Clarke’s dedication to her church, family, and service to the community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her, family, friends, and church family alike. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire others. Sandra ran the race that God put before her with her eyes always fixed on Jesus. Now she is united with Him forever.
