The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a body was found in Douglas Lake Friday, making this the fourth victim found in a body of water in the last week in East Tennessee.

On Tuesday, two victims were found to have drowned – one in Norris Lake, the other in Fort Loudon. The man found in Norris Lake was discovered after a caller contacted police stating they had seen a man calling for help and going underwater.

The next day, a third body was found in another area of Fort Loudon Lake. The two bodies from there were found near each other. Both were taken to the Knox Regional Forensic Center for autopsies and both were biologically male.

As far as Wednesday’s drowning case goes, the Major Crimes Unit which specializes in crimes against persons, missing person cases and homicides is leading the investigation.

Just two days later a fourth body was found floating in Douglas Lake near Indian Creek Bridge. It was also transported to the Knox Regional Forensic Center.

All drownings are under further investigation in their respective jurisdictions.
