The Arts Center Seeking Entries for Upcoming “Student Art Show”

Athens Area Council for the Art will present its annual Student Art Show for Middle School, High School, and College Students, offering over $1000 in cash prizes. The entry deadline is Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

The exhibit is open to middle school, high school, and college students in East Tennessee and cash prizes will be awarded in each division. There is no entry fee for middle and high school artists, and college students may enter for $10 per piece. Students’ work will be judged by Atlanta artist, Mia Hall, who will exhibit her own work concurrently in the Willson Gallery Hall. AACA will award prizes to first and second place winners in each of the three divisions, plus Best in Show.

Awards will be announced during the opening reception and awards ceremony for the exhibit on Friday, Oct. 6, at 5:30 p.m., with awards presented at 6:00 p.m. at The Arts Center.

The exhibit will be on display in the Hallway Gallery at The Arts Center Sept. 20 through Oct. 30, 2023. Viewing hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and during special events.
