Roads improving across Lakeway Area

In anticipation of possible black ice Thursday morning, crews with both Morristown and Hamblen County went out Wednesday to clearer roads.

Morristown Public Works Director Paul Brown said that as of Wednesday, roads were looking better in town.

“I haven’t driven very much today, but as far as I know, everything looks good,” Brown said.

Brown said that after working through the weekend into this week, crews were able to take a brief break from road clearing efforts Tuesday night.

Hamblen County Road Superintendent Jeff Wisecarver expressed a similar sentiment on the main and side roads in the county.

“Everything is basically clear, everything is looking pretty decent,” Wisecarver said.

Meanwhile, those subdivisions that have shade on them, such as Timber Crest, have slush on them right now.
